Sharon DeBartolo Carmack will be leaving her position as editor of NGS NewsMagazine at the end of 2004. She was offered and accepted the position of editor-in-chief of Colorado Springs Style magazine. The June/July issue of NGS NewsMagazine is being mailed to National Genealogical Society members shortly. Two more issues for 2004 are in production and will follow: September/October and December.
While the Colorado Springs Style position takes her editing skills in a new direction, Carmack will still be an active member of the genealogical community. She continues as the executive editor of Family Tree Books (formerly Betterway Books), a contributing editor of Family Tree Magazine, author of genealogical articles and books, and as a speaker at conferences and seminars, www.sharoncarmack.com.
Colorado Springs Style keeps readers up-to-date on the latest in dining, style, entertainment, real estate, health & fitness, and the arts in the Pikes Peak Region. For more information on Colorado Springs Style, visit the web site at www.coloradospringsstyle.com.
There's been one issue of the Newsmagazine this year (January/February, which came out in April, I believe). This message refers to 3 more issues for 2004. That equals 4 issues. NGS members are promised 6 issues of the Newsmagazine.
I saw a post on a mail list that the manuscript collection has been donated to the DAR library (an announcement which has yet to appear on the NGS website.)
With no research services, 2 fewer issues of the Newsmagazine, and no manuscript collection, what exactly are NGS members getting for their dues?
