As a genealogist, I have read thousands of obituaries. One I read today surprised me. The last sentence stated "His remote was cremated with him."
Ken Kobin died of congestive heart failure recently in St. Petersburg, Florida. His wife wrote the death notice for the local newspaper that described Kobin as a person who "loved his family, food, t.v., food, the Bucs, food, the Gators, food, Tiger, food, his dog Buster, and food." She ended the death notice with the comment about his television remote control.
You can read the death notice and an interview of Pat Kobin, Ken's wife, in the St. Petersburg Online. It is a loving tribute of a strong willed man. You can read it at http://stpetetimes.com/2004/08/28/Floridian/RIP__my_bullheaded_lo.shtml.
