OK, if this is your family, how do you enter this into your genealogy records?
A 55-year-old woman acting as a surrogate for her daughter gave birth to triplets. The two boys and one girl were delivered a month and a half prematurely by Caesarean section at Bon Secours St Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on Tuesday. Surrogate mother Tina Cade experienced "mild complications," which the hospital said is not uncommon for such surgery.
Cade carried her own grandchildren for her oldest daughter, Camille Hammond, who suffers from endometriosis, a condition that affects the lining of the uterus and makes it difficult to become pregnant.
Details are available on the USA Today web site.
My niece was a surrogate for her brother's child last winter. I have been wondering how or even if this should be mentioned. The child was biologically the product of my nephew's sperm and his wife's egg. His wife has a heart condition which developed during her first pregnancy which made it deadly for her to be pregnant. My niece generously offered to be the surrogate so that hey could have another child. The baby was born healthy last winter.
