Members of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) elected 10 directors to its governing board and two members to its nominating committee, President J. Mark Lowe, CG, of Springfield, Tennessee has announced.
Lowe said, "These outstanding individuals will contribute their unique skills and abilities to keep APG at the top of the genealogical community and on-track to meet our goals for 2005. Major goals include increasing educational opportunities for our membership and defining our professionalism to the general population."
Elected to two-year terms on the 19-member board are:
Julie Miller of Broomfield, Colorado and Patricia Hackett Nicola, CGRS, of Seattle, Washington, Region 1 (Western U.S., Western Canada and Mexico)
Paul Milner of Park Ridge, Illinois and incumbent Patricia Walls Stamm, CGRS, of St. Louis, Missouri, Region 2 (Midwest and Central Canada)
incumbent Alvie L. Davidson, CGRS, of Lakeland, Florida and Shirley Langdon Wilcox, CG, FNGS, of Arlington, Virginia, Region 3 (Southeast, Caribbean and Central America)
Sandra MacLean Clunies, CG, of Derwood, Maryland and Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak [sic] of Haddonfield, New Jersey, Region 4 (Northeast and Eastern Canada)
incumbent Tom K. H. Tyrrell, M.A. of Douglas, Isle of Man, Great Britain, International Region 5A (U.K. and Ireland), and incumbent Janet D. Gow of Auckland, New Zealand, Region 5C (New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Africa, and South America)
Robert L. Keener of Akron, Ohio and Leslie Brinkley Lawson of Aloha, Oregon were elected to the nominating committee for one-year terms.
