Australian minister discovers "long lost son" is not his child

Here is a bit of a "genealogy that wasn't." An Australian government minister who thought he had found a child he gave up for adoption 27 years ago is not the father of the young man in question.

Health Minister Tony Abbott, a leading right-to-life proponent, had spoken publicly about his delight at being reunited last Christmas with the person he believed was a son born illegitimately and given up for adoption. But DNA testing had revealed that Abbott is not the father of the young man, Daniel O'Connor, according to an ABC radio report on Monday.
