The following is an announcement from the California Genealogical Society:
Genealogy Cruise Sponsored by the California Genealogical Society
May 1-12, 2005What could be better than combining a cruise with your genealogy compulsion? The California Genealogical Society is once again sponsoring a genealogy cruise. You will have the opportunity to learn from and chat with the leaders and then go relax on a deck chair while you read through the wonderful handouts the leaders provide. The departure date is nearing.
Due to an illness in the family of one of the previously advertised leaders, there are now two new leaders for this exciting cruise. We invite you to join Patricia Law Hatcher, FASG, and Paula Stuart-Warren, CGRS, for a spectacular, yet relaxing and educational cruise to the Southern Carribean. The cruise departs Norfolk, Virginia aboard Holland America's ms Maasdam. The grandeur of this ship is another plus as are the exciting stops the ship will make.
Pat and Paula bring extensive genealogical expertise to the cruise's classes and consultations. You may have seen their articles in Ancestry Daily News, NewEnglandAncestors.org, and in many other national publications. They are course coordinators and instructors at the annual Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy and are popular speakers at national and state genealogical events. Pat is editor of the Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine and author of many books, including Producing a Quality Family History. Paula is co-author of Your Guide to the Family History Library and is National Publicity Chair for the 2006 Federation of Genealogical Societies/New England Historic Genealogical Society's conference to be held in Boston.
For details on the cruise and the genealogy events, please visit: http://www.calgensoc.org. Brief bios for both Pat and Paula are included at the site. The speakers will also be available for dinner seating with the genealogy registrants.
