Blogs are popping up all over the genealogy world and for good reason: they work well for distributing often-updated information. Elise C. Cole has started one that is designed to be a collaborative space for Librarians who assist family historians with their Canadian genealogical research.
Elise is the Local History Librarian at the Oakville (Ontario) Public Library. She reports that the idea for the new blog was spawned at the Ontario Genealogical Society's annual conference in Windsor last May. She and some of her colleagues and I talked about the lack of collaborative space for Librarians who assist researchers with their Canadian roots. The discussion generated some thinking, and soon the blog was born.
Here are some of the topics of articles recently posted on this new resource:

An even better method of reading blogs is with an RSS newsreader. If you have one (and you probably do), point it to: http://canadianlibgenie.blogspot.com/atom.xml
NOTE: RSS newsreaders are built into Firefox web browser, Opera web browser, the Thunderbird e-mail program, and several other programs. You can find more information about RSS newsreaders at http://www.eogn.com/rss-newsreaders.htm
