When I was at a genealogy conference last week, I had a chance to talk with many newsletter readers. I was surprised to learn that some of those readers did not realize that this newsletter has been published daily for more than one year. Apparently, they read the weekly e-mail version and had missed last year's announcement that new articles are now posted daily.
In fact, one or more articles are posted to this newsletter's web site every day. Once a week, I take a "snapshot" of all articles published in the previous seven days and send that snapshot by e-mail. Plus Edition subscribers get the full text of all articles, including the Plus Edition articles. Standard Edition e-mail subscribers receive a brief e-mail that contains the headlines and a pointer to the online web site where the Standard Edition articles may be read.
The web site also contains a feedback section after all articles, where readers may ask follow-up questions, post comments, or submit corrections.
You can read all the latest articles and follow-up comments at any time if you point your web browser to http://www.eogn.com.
If you use an RSS newsreader, sometimes referred to as a blog reader, you will find it even more convenient to point the RSS newsreader to http://eogn.typepad.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/index.rdf. RSS newsreaders are especially useful for those using slower, dial-up connections.
