Fun Stuff for Genealogists is the name of a company that sells a wide variety of items to genealogists. Now the company is giving away one free admission (valued at $185.00) to the annual conference of the Federation of Genealogical Societies. This year's event will be held September 7 through 10 in Salt Lake City
This is the second time that Bev Petersen of Fun Stuff for Genealogists has paid the admission of a genealogist to a national conference. John Carter of Georgia was the lucky winner of the NGS Nashville, Tennessee registration earlier this year.
For more information and to register for the free admission from Fun Stuff for Genealogists, go to http://www.funstuffforgenealogists.com.

RE: Win a free registration to the FGS conference:
I don't think this is a good deal at all. If I register to win the registration fee, and then don't win, I will have to sign up for the conference at full price of $189.00. However, if I register before July 26 (and before the winner of the free registration is announced) I pay only $159. If I register before July 26 and then do win I then have to cancel my early registration and would receive only the syllabus, no refund. Since I don't feel lucky, I'll sign up in early July.

No problem with the "I don't think this is a good deal at all". I'll make the closing date midnight, July 25th! I happen to be "on vacation" and will make the change on my web site when I get back next week. Always open to suggestions!

Do you really have to pay for the registration if you don't win the free one? I just looked at the registration webpage and I didn't see that in the rules. I would like to apply to win, but I don't want to pay for registration if I don't win.
