It is nice to see genealogists pitching in to help countrymen in need. The following is from the GenCircles web site:
Here is what I know best about GenCircles: When you ask the community for their help, they come by the tens of thousands. Your generosity is the entire reason why GenCircles thrives today. I'd like to see if we can harness some of this goodwill and direct it towards those who need it most. The victims of Hurricane Katrina need our help. In fact, they need all the help we can possibly give right now. I am asking for your assistance in a campaign to raise as much money as we possibly can. We will be tracking all of the money the community raises, with an exciting running total on this web page. Proof of donation will be posted on September 13th.
Money raised so far: $1805 - let's keep it going!
You can check the latest total and add your contribution at http://www.gencircles.com/donate
