New Position Announcements at Heritage Books
Craig R. Scott, CGRS, President and CEO of Heritage Books, Inc. (dba Willow Bend Books), has announced the addition of a marketing division to support the company's publishing business. Heritage Books sells books and CDs through two online stores, www.WillowBendBooks.com and www.HeritageBooks.com, and a catalog mail-order business.
Laura G. Prescott will become Marketing Division Director on October 1, after six years with the New England Historic Genealogical Society. She is known to genealogists as a speaker at conferences and author of articles in New England Ancestors, Ancestry, and Genealogical Computing magazines. She will be joined by Debby T. Horton, Distribution Specialist. Debbie will also continue to be the webmaster for the Genealogical Speakers' Guild and for the California State Genealogical Alliance. Von Bates, Marketing Support Specialist, a former member of the Willow Bend Books Customer Service Division, will round out the Marketing Division.
Willow Bend Books closes its "brick and mortar" location in Maryland this week with its seventh annual Midnight Madness Sale. The company's future business will follow the changing needs of genealogists and other book lovers by focusing on its large offering of genealogical materials and bringing its out-of-print titles back into print. Willow Bend Books is the largest publisher of genealogical books, with 2,790 titles in print. The company will continue to rely on its Internet and catalog businesses, areas in which the new Marketing Division will play a vital role. Customers familiar with tables of browsable books at events around the country will continue to see Willow Bend Books with a strong presence at genealogical conferences.
