Genealogy blogs are popping up everywhere. I was delighted to see a new one today, started by an expert genealogist and an old friend.
Gendatablog by Sara Leslie Griffith promises to be a "how to" blog along with reviews of various computer programs. Quoting from the first article posted:
Welcome to our new genealogy blog.
Have you wanted to search your family tree or put together a family history? Perhaps you've wanted to establish a family organization or computerize your genealogy and didn't know how to get started. This blog will be devoted to genealogy research, preservation, compilation and publication. We won't do the work for you, but we will give you lots of good tips and tricks from over 35 years of research experience. To learn more about how I got interested in genealogy and my first forays into research, see the "Introduction" at my Griffith-L'Hommedieu-Young Genealogy website.
There is no time like the present to get started, so let's go!
A couple of newer articles have also been posted as I write these words, and I expect more articles will follow.
Leslie also expects to have guest bloggers/experts contribute articles once things are running smoothly. Anyone interested in being a guest writer should contact Leslie at gendatablog@pal2pal.com.
You can read this new genealogy "how to" blog at http://www.gendatablog.com.
Thank you so much for the notice in your newsletter and the nice words too. I am still working on adding features to the blog, while also working nearly round the clock to get some content on there to get things rolling. I'm pleased with the response so far. I have added a GEN-DATA links section for individual, family organization and newsletter links that are genealogy-related and as soon as I can start to handle suggestions for articles, I will have a suggestion box.
Thanks again and we invite everyone to stop by and take a look.
