Rochester and Monroe County NY City Directories are Online

The following is an announcement from the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County NY:

The Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County NY is very pleased to announce the availability of its early city directories online.

The web page to begin getting there is www.libraryweb.org, with a purple button which clicks through to the directories page (http://www.libraryweb.org/rochcitydir/citydirectories.html).

Currently all directories through the 1850s are online; later 19th century books are in the final stages of being prepared; and the entire collection of directories up to 1930 has been digitized and is in process. They are printable and downloadable PDF files, and users are invited to make use of them!
