The National Post of Toronto has an article about condo buyers who are seeking properties overlooking cemeteries. With parks in short supply and land at a premium, the cemetery has become an attraction for builders in Toronto. Condominiums now line the area around the Mount Pleasant cemetery, one of North America's finest arboretums. Sculptures abound at the cemetery and, of course, there is no shortage of flowers. Other city cemeteries are also attracting condo builders.
The cemeteries are a refreshing bit of green within the city. Many of Toronto's cemeteries are arboretums, complete with statues and a full-time staff of groundskeepers. Of course, would-be condo buyers also should consider that the neighbors are easy to get along with. You're not going to get much noise coming from the "residents" in a cemetery.
