This week I am traveling to London, England, to attend the annual Society of Genealogists' Family History Fair on April 29. I have attended this event several times in years past and have always enjoyed it. The Family History Fair always attracts several thousand attendees - not bad for a one-day event!
I suspect this year's event will be similar. You can read my article about this year's Fair at http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2006/03/family_history_.html.
Writing and posting newsletter articles from hotel rooms, airport waiting lounges, and similar places presents a few unique challenges. I expect to find plenty to write about at the Family History Fair, but writing the words on my laptop computer and then uploading them to the newsletter's web site while traveling may pose a few challenges. Should I get delayed, I will write about the new items seen at the Fair soon after my return home.
If you are able to be in London this weekend, drop by Royal Horticultural Hall on Greycoat Street, Westminster, on Saturday. You'll see several thousand genealogists, hundreds of exhibitors, and a number of presentations and seminars. A special pre-show conference for beginners is being held at the same location on Friday afternoon.
I am sure you will enjoy the Family History Fair. More information is available at http://www.sog.org.uk/events/fair.html.
I'll see you there!
