Podcast: This is an audio interview with Barbara Vines Little, President of the National Genealogical Society. In this podcast, Barbara and I discuss the upcoming National Genealogical Society annual conference to be held near Chicago on June 7 though 10.
You can listen to this 28-minute interview using any modern computer that has either speakers or headphones attached. It can also be downloaded to an iPod or other portable music player. To listen to the interview, click on the "play" button located to the left of the long bar below.
FOLLOW-UP: In the podcast, I stumbled on the pronunciation of Craig Pfannkucke's surname. I have now been advised that it is pronounced: FAN COOK.
I am now going off to a quiet corner to say FAN COOK 100 times...

The rail line you referred to as the Metro is actually the CTA, affectionately referred to as the 'EL by most Chicagoans although only a small portion of it actually circles the Loop area of downtown Chicago.

The podcast should work well on any RSS newsreader that supports podcasts on Linux, Macintosh or Windows if you use the RSS feed. Click on the RSS icon at the end of the article to obtain the address of the RSS feed.

I tried to listen to the podcast but couldn't get it loud enough to hear. Suggestions?

All computers have adjustable volume controls. If you are using a Windows computer, look in the System Tray in the lower right corner of your screen. You should see a tiny icon that looks like a loudspeaker. Double-click on it or right click on it. Then open it to a regular window. You will see volume controls there. Macintosh systems have similar adjustments.
Make sure you can hear regular music at normal volumes. Place a normal music CD into your computer's CD drive and adjust the volume until that sounds normal. Then go back to the podcast and I bet its volume will also be about normal. It might require minor adjustment of the volume level.

You told how to listen but not how to download the podcast. Right clicking doesn't give any clues, so tell how to do it please?

I really enjoyed the podcast though I didn't like hour your voice was in the right channel only and Barbara's only in the left channel. It made it difficult to listen to.
