On the Road Once Again, This Time to London
I am traveling almost constantly throughout the month of May. This week I am off to the "Who Do You Think You Are?" conference in London, England. The event features the Society of Genealogists Family History Show, the Military Zone (supported by The History Channel, the UK's leading broadcaster of historical entertainment and documentary programming), House History and more. Speakers will include Dr. Nick Barratt, Bettany Hughes, Dan Snow, David Starkey, Guy Grannum, Jonathan Foyle, Saul David, Paul Crooks and more.
Although I will be carrying a laptop computer and various wireless networking devices, there is always a possibility of being left incommunicado. Don't be surprised if there are no new articles posted to the daily newsletter for a few days. Next Sunday's weekly Plus Edition e-mail newsletter also might be delayed by a day or two.
You can read more about the conference at my earlier article at http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2007/04/who_do_you_thin.html.
If you can be in London this weekend, I'd suggest that you drop by. It should be a great event. If you cannot make it, you can read my report early next week.
For a bit of humor (or perhaps that should be spelled as "humour"), look at Google Maps' suggested route of travel for my trip at http://tinyurl.com/2247tw. Step #5 may be a bit difficult!

We look forward to seeing you there Dick - we have a stand (not "booth") at the show. We're usually exhibiting at the NGS and FGS conferences so it's a nice change to be at a UK event that's attracting US visitors. It's looking like it'll be a BIG event.

If you take that route you'll end up at the RHS Agricultural Hall which is NOT where this year's show is being held. Just thought I'd mention it.

I thought number 5 had to be a joke. I tried Google Maps from my home to London, England and got the same results. That is too weird! Swim the Atlantic Ocean.

I clicked on the tab to get the directions in reverse and it said just after the last turn "to Boston." Interesting, you swim there but coming back it's just around the corner!
