The following announcement was written by the Board for Certification of Genealogists:
Pre-orders are now being taken at the BCG website http://www.bcgcertification.org/catalog for Elizabeth Shown Mills' newest highly-anticipated book, Evidence Explained - Citing History Sources from Artifacts to Cyberspace. The author's signature will appear in the books sold through this website "while supplies last." For those of you looking to support an organization whose mission is genealogical standards, here is your opportunity - including a chance to win a free book!
Website orders are eligible for the contest previously announced for the BCG exhibit booth at FGS. When placing an on-line order, guess how many Evidence Explained books will be sold at the BCG booth during the 3 days at the August conference in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Place your guess in the "Special Instructions" area of the order form by typing "Contest guess = (number)" Guesses made through August 18 are eligible. One guess entry per book purchase. The person who guesses closest to the actual number sold will receive a refund of the purchase price of their book (not including shipping).
For those planning to make their purchase in Ft. Wayne and have Elizabeth sign it, you can "spread the opportunity" by making purchases for those friends or society members back home who cannot travel to the conference. Please also collect your friends' guesses for the contest. One guess per book purchased.
Contest entry or not, your genealogy will be "a winner" by owning this necessary tool to help in your genealogical pursuits.
