The very successful genealogy program, "Who Do You Think You Are," will begin its fourth year on BBC on Thursday. In conjunction with the new season, the show is also launching a glossy printed magazine, complete with an attached DVD or CD containing clips of the BBC show and archive material. A website to support the magazine will go live later this week.
The new 100-page, full-colour magazine will be produced by BBC Magazines Bristol and launches on September 25 for a cost of £4.25. Hmmm, I wonder if they will sell to overseas subscribers.
The show also sponsored a live exhibition at London's Olympia in May of this year. You can see computer video of that show on RootsTelevision at http://tinyurl.com/343yu5. Previous guests on the TV show, including Colin Jackson, Ian Hislop, and David Baddiel, attended the event and talked about their experiences. Now the production company, Wall to Wall, which produces the series, has announced a second live show for May 2008. You might want to circle the 2nd through 4th of May 2008 on your calendar now.
Yes, the new magazine is available to subscribers outside the UK, at a cost of £65 for 13 issues within Europe, or £75 in the rest of the world from http://tinyurl.com/3cbg7t
