Here's a great fund-raising idea for your local society: this year's Putnam County (Ohio) Genealogical Society ornament has the Leipsic City Hall and the 1895 Fire Department steamer on it. Leipsic, Ohio, is celebrating its sesquicentennial this year. In honor of their celebration, the local genealogical society is selling the ornaments now. The cost is $7.50 each, tax included. The ornaments may be purchased at the Ottoville and Fort Jennings branches of the Fort Jennings State Bank. This is the latest addition to the collection of annual ornaments that have been sold for years.
The society is also starting a series of collector mugs that will feature historical places from the county. The first mug features the First Putnam County Courthouse, Kalida; the Leipsic Junction of the Nickel Plate Railroads, Leipsic; the Crawfis College; Myers General Store & Post Office, Dupont; St. John's Church, Glandorf; and The Fireman's Statue, Ottawa.
The second mug features the Fort Jennings Fort; the Chambers Hotel, Gilboa; Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville; CM Hammer Blacksmith Shop, Miller City; OG High School with Twin Elm Tree; and the Frogtown School.
