WeRelate is the world's largest genealogy wiki. It is a rather new service and one that is growing quickly in popularity. At the recent FGS conference in Fort Wayne, I had a chance to talk with Dallan Quass, President of the Foundation for On-Line Genealogy and chief software scientist at WeRelate.org.
WeRelate.org is available free of charge to all.
Dallan talked about the workings of WeRelate.org and also described the non-profit organization that supports it: the Foundation for On-Line Genealogy, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit corporation.

I absolutely love your interviews! I've watched two of the film(?) clips and find it so informative. It is so easy to listen and comprehend the subject. You are a very good interviewer and your guests have been very clear in their discussions. Thanks so much for starting this part of your newsletter service.
I would love to have you interview someone who can further explain Footnote to us.

It is very possible. Lots of people do that with YouTube and I think some of them do it with BrightCove although I have never tried. You need some software in your computer that will capture the streaming video and save it on your hard drive. You could then copy it to any other device that supports that video format. A search on Google should find a number of such programs.

I was hoping for a simple link to download. To capture and convert a short video could take as long as simply watching it online.
An alternative would be an audio copy (podcast) since in many cases with an interview the video does not add to the content.
Thanks,

Thank you for the kind words, Judith. Keep an eye on this site. A video interview with the Footnote.com Director of Marketing will appear here before long.

It looks like an interesting interview, but every time I try to play it, it stops after about 1.5 minutes and switches to another interview. Any suggestions?

I have no idea. I watched it and it went to the end. Is anyone else having the problem?
