It's a shame this notification of the David Wilson show arrived in my mailbox this morning on April 12th, after the fact.

I'm another one terribly disappointed that I did not receive this article of notification in my email box until this morning...April 12th...after the program aired...

And me also

The information was posted here within a few minutes after I first received it.

Any chance there will be a rerun or some other way to obtain this? I definitly would have viewed this had I known about it.

With so little to watch on TV, I am especially resentful that Comcast considers MSNBC a premium channel. Why pay for premium when the only thing worth watching 99% of the time is the news (and I really wonder about that sometimes).

Dick, Any chance you could find out about re-runs of this show? I think there are a lot of us out here who are disappointed about finding out about this after the fact. (and we understand it was not your fault!)

You can view the documentary at the URL above.

You sent the notice of the program "Meeting David Wilson" on April 12th, very early a.m. The program was April 11th so I have missed it.

Thanks, Melvyn for the heads up on the URL. Nice to be able to view this since I, too, missed it. I'm just sorry it wasn't broadcast on NBC for those of us who don't have MSNBC.

Yes, and the article was posted here on April 11. I posted it here on the web site as soon as I received it so that some people would read it here and be able to catch it that evening.

The e-mail you receive is an automated process that runs once a day. I was in bed and asleep at the time it was mailed. (smile)

Fortunately, I heard about the documentary "Meeting David Wilson" through advertising beforehand. I was very impressed with the program and the conversation about race that followed. It was beautifully and thoughtfully done.

I was taken aback, however, by the Ford sponsorship, especially their commercials which stated diversity was so important to them. Their founder, Henry Ford, was a known racist and anti-Semite. Here is a link to an article on the American Jewish Historical Society website about his activities during WWII. http://www.ajhs.org/publications/chapters/chapter.cfm?documentID=275

Henry Ford even published a book about the Jews who he believed were responsible for all the ills in this country. The entire book, titled "The International Jew” is available online at Google books.

Perhaps the Ford Company felt their sponsorship of this program was in some way reparation for the damage done by their founder. But unlike David B. Wilson, the descendant of slave owners, the company did not even acknowledge it's own history in their ads that accompanied the documentary.

I came across the showing of "Meeting David Wilson" quite by accident. I was flipping through the channels (yes, even women flip through the channels) and happened upon the show. I'm very happy to have had the opportunity to see this film. It's a very fine piece of work; I hope it will be shown again. In addition, the discussion after the fact was interesting as well. I hadn't seen this program advertised on television at all and if I hadn't happened upon it I would have missed it too. It wasn't widely advertised, I know that there are stations that are geared to the black community, possibly it was advertised there, but I think this is something that all Americans need to view. We're all human beings, with varying degrees of melanin in our skin. I think we should judge people not by the color of their skin, but by the character of the person.
