I have used Legacy for about 2 1/2 years and find it to have the most features and usability for my taste. I started with a free download of version 5 which I obtained a "cracked" serial to use all its features. I used the "illeagal" cracked version for a few months to get a full feel and to test all its features and then purchased the version 6 which gives me a free upgrade to version 7 upon release. I await anxiously for its availability. I would recommend this software to my friends.

I am currently using Personal Ancestral File and am a Director of a Family History Center for my town. I am hearing very good things about Legacy and am interested in trying this new version. How can I get this product and do you have a trial time available?

Marion, as a dedicated user of Legacy for 2.5 years (not in any way connected with the company, by the way), I can heartily recommend Legacy. The current version (v6) is a richly featured, genealogy programme, and v7 (due in June) is, by all accounts, even better, with better sourcing options (linked to the Elizabeth Shown Mills Evidence Explained format), and vastly improved Charting options available.
If you go to http://www.legacyfamilytreestore.com/?Click=1440 you can get the standard version of v6 now which is FREE (YES, FREE!!), with no requirement to pay ever. If you like the programe, you can upgrade to the deluxe version at the above URL, for a more fully feastured version. If you buy v6 Deluxe now (before v7 is released), you get a free upgrade to v7 Deluxe. Those of us who use the Legacy User Group have been (mostly patiently!!) waiting since July 2007 for this upgrade, so are quite excited that it's coming out in a matter of weeks (hopefully!!)

If I choose to download the free Legacy does it override my family tree program that I now use. Or can I use it separately.
Please let me know

Yes can use them both. They are completely separate programs. I use them both I use Family tree to do searches and the put the data into legacy.

Very happy to see this release--when will it be ready for mailing??
Remember the people who went on the Legacy Cruise to Hawaii this past Sept. were promised as a gift Legacy 7 which was in Beta Testing--
Dick, you were a guest speaker and on the cruise with us, so have you received your copy yet?? The demonstration we were shown then was awesome--we all just thought it was the "dream program." Transferring data to it was supposed to be seamless from Legacy 6 and PAF and no data lost by using a GEDCOM from other programs. I can't wait to use it!
