In recent weeks, I have published a number of articles about the ancestry of Barack Obama and John McCain. I find it fascinating that such articles bring out the worst in people.
A number of readers have posted comments at the end of those articles. Normally, I enjoy reading such comments. However, I have been surprised at the number of derogatory comments that have been posted.
Please keep in mind that this is a genealogy web site, not one for political commentary. Any derogatory comments about any candidate, Democrat or Republican, will be removed. If you wish to post political commentary, I suggest you go to a political web site and post your words there. If you wish to post comments about a person's genealogy, your words are welcome here.
I don't often delete comments but have deleted more in the past week or so than I did in the previous year. I will always delete inappropriate comments, be they political or not. My definition of "inappropriate" includes derogatory or disparaging remarks, profanity, off-topic comments, or spam-like messages.
