This article is being written in a hotel room in Indianapolis. Indiana. I'll be here for the next few days attending the Midwestern Roots 2008: Family History and Genealogy Conference.
This is shaping up to be a good conference. If you can be in Indianapolis on Friday and/or Saturday, you might want to drop in. Details may be found at http://www.indianahistory.org/midwesternroots/.
Since I will be occupied for the next few days and will be traveling for most of Sunday, there is a strong possibility that fewer articles than usual will be posted to the newsletter in the next few days. I hope to send the weekly Plus Edition by e-mail on Sunday evening (as usual) although there is a possibility that it will be delayed until Monday.
If you don't see any articles, you'll know that I am having a GREAT time!
Welcome to Indianapolis, Dick! Wish I could stop by to see you, but I'm leaving town Friday night. If you get a chance check out the big GenCon gaming convention while you're downtown. You can't miss 'em.

As you can see (Thursday) we have ordered great sunshine for your visit to Indy. Looking forward to seeing you there later today, Friday, or Saturday (I have registered for your session without a title, showing considerable confidence in your quality sharing).

Dick:
I am jealous of your being in Indianapolis. Ironically, I spent all day yesterday drafting letters and e-mails to various organizations in Indianapolis requesting birth, death and/or marriage record information regarding my wife's paternal ggrandparents. I can only do so much on the internet from here in San Diego, so have solicited some assistance in trying to track this German family back to Bavaria and Wurttemberg, Germany. They had 10 children in Indianapolis between 1851 and 1870 so there is a good chance I might find something helpful. To complicate matters his name was Friedrich Schmidt, which is like looking for Joe Smith here in the U.S. So if you run across any Schmidt's or experts on Germans in Indianapolis there at the conference, please tell them I could use some help {:-) Have a great time! . . . Del in San Diego
