Kenny -

early on [many many moons ago] all I was personally interested in, was discovering IF I had descended "directly" from just "one" of the Pilgrims :) sadly the answer still remains to be NO! even though the ol' family folklore indicated that we did "/ Instead I have found [on my mothers side] that many of my ancestors did arrived in New England within a few of years after 1620 :)

Need a quick way to overcome brick walls in your research? Heck, run for office and have Ancestry.com do it for you.

Concerning the King of America: If George Washington had been chosen King of the United States instead of the first President the descendants of George's father would be irrelevant. The Royal Line would have started with George. As he died without siring children his adopted son (Martha's grandson) might have been recognized as his successor or another could have been chosen.

Timothy Eastman

As for George Washington's descendants today being the King of the US? 99.99% chance that no one related to him would be our current King. History shows us that revolutions occur ever couple centuries or sooner - depending on how rebellious the people. Americans are, and have always been, very rebellious people. The originators of this country and emigrants who came in the ensuing centuries were more often the poor and "less desirable" of other nations looking for a new life of plenty.
Not even looking at our "civil" war, we find that americans have ALWAYS been very rebellious. Especially when monarchs and the rich try to force us to act or live in their ways with little or no real freedom.
Given our rebellious nature, the throne of the kingdom of the US would have changed families many times already. Who knows...I could have been the current King of America.
