The following is an announcement of a new genealogy CD-ROM disk:
Nov 24, 2008 – Judith Sattler Irons has finalized 14 years of comprehensive research in her newly released CD Data Base Hoover Dam Construction Workers and Pioneer Families of Boulder City Nevada 1929 thru mid-1936.
The data base includes sections on the businesses and businessmen, contractors and subcontractors, government employees and organizations associated with the planning and construction of Hoover Dam and the Boulder Canyon Project.
Where available the data base includes the following information for each person: Name of Construction Worker or Pioneer family member; wife’s maiden name; children’s names; relationships between Construction Worker and Pioneer family members; alias or nicknames; alternate spellings found for names; Companies that employed the worker and the job performed; source documents where the individuals’ name and information was found.
Mrs. Irons states “the compiled information documents the mass migration of people in America during the Great Depression. Individuals researching their family histories will find this an invaluable tool which provides quick reference to source documents where information on each individual will be found”.
The State of Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs states “at 4,500 pages, this database reveals the sheer scale of Hoover Dam construction employment….the database recovers the history of one of the nation’s most important social, economic, and engineering projects. Supporting the value of the database is the extensive list of references from which Ms. Irons drew her material.”
The data base is arranged as a PDF file and authored to provide easy navigation, including a “Find” feature that makes quick searching for key words simple.
For information on purchase of the database and a detailed list of retail locations where it is available, visit Ms Irons’ website http://www.judithsattlerirons.books.officelive.com.
I wonder if there are two spellings for genealogy? Geneology or genealogy?

All the dictionaries I have checked only show one spelling: genealogy.
