Good news: "Ancestors in the Attic" will continue and even expand within Canada. The following is an extract from a message sent by Dugald Maudsley, Producer & Co-Creator of Ancestors in the Attic:
We've just had some very good news. Ancestors in the Attic continues on Global TV in 2009. The program will continue to premiere on History Television but can also be seen on Sundays at 7pm on Global.
Here is the January schedule. I will send February's as soon as I have it.

Sunday 18 January @ 7pm - Spirit Lake

Sunday January 25 @ 7pm - Missing Daughter
A WWII veteran goes on a quest to find the orphaned daughter of his best friend, a girl who disappeared more than 60 years ago.
Hi
What is global tv? Is it a cable station? If so, I never heard of it and it sounds really interesting and would like to watch it. Unfortunately if its a cable station, I can't watch it.

Global is a Canadian television network. The reference to the History Channel refers to the Canadian one. I can't comment whether the US History Channel might be carrying the show.

I love this show. I was quite shocked to hear about the passing of their head genealogist, Paul McGrath. Eventhough I hadn't heard from him personally, I had submitted a story and was talking to one of their assistants. I don't know where my story is sitting, but I'm glad to hear that the TV program will be forging ahead.

Global is an over the air station, they have several affiliates, but I think they're all in Ontario. I can pickup their signal here in eastern Michigan. They mainly air a lot of US programs, but there is some Canadian content. Other than the news and a few select programs, everything else is just US television you can see on CBS, NBC, ABC or FOX. You can check them out at

We live in British Columbia and always watch Ancestors. We have History channel but it has not been on the air for the last 2 weeks. The last few that we watched were repeats. Will it be coming back on and do you know if it will be at the same time.
