Are you planning to attend the NGS conference in Raleigh, North Carolina on 13-16 May 2009? If so, will you be traveling in an RV? If you answered "yes" to both questions, Carolyn Putterman has news that you will want to read:
If at all possible could you post an alternative lodging option to the NGS Conference?
This information made the online info under Hotels at the NGS site....but it wasn't in the paper registration form mailed and I don't know if people know of this option.
Anyone who would like to travel in their RV or Camper.....Camping/parking is available.
I have made arrangements with the North Carolina Fairgrounds to have "group" camping/parking available for those attending the Conference. The NC Fairgrounds has a first come first serve policy unless you are a "group".
I have blocked out the dates May 10th to the 17th for the attendees. You may stay 1 week longer if you want to work at the North Carolina Archives or other research areas.
The fee is $25 a day with full hookups and wireless is available. There is a bus stop at the NC Fairgrounds and buses go to the convention center for those who don't want to pay parking garage fees.
I am the coordinator for this RV camping/parking and I have to have a "head count" in by May 1st.
Any one interested please put in the Subject Line....NGS RV Reservations.
Thanks for the assist
