In 1988 the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution issued a series of booklets—one for each state—setting forth the names of American Indians and Black Americans who had been identified as veterans and patriots of the Revolutionary War. In 2001 all of the booklets were consolidated into a single updated volume. It has now been greatly expanded and reissued.
