This is a quick “heads up” notice about changes that have been made that will affect all Plus Edition subscribers to this newsletter. In order to go to a more user-friendly environment, I moved the Plus Edition newsletter's web site from a third-party hosting service to my own web server.
The changes will be nearly invisible to most subscribers with one major exception: your password has changed.
For security reasons, I cannot see the password you created on your account when you subscribed. Your password is hidden, even from me, which reduces the possibility of your private data being “hacked” by someone with evil intentions. However, it also means that I cannot copy your existing password to the new web server
When I moved the Plus Edition subscriptions to http://www.eogn.com/amember/login.php, I had to create new (temporary) passwords for all Plus Edition subscribers. You will receive an e-mail informing you of the move and giving your new, temporary password.
I would suggest you then go to http://www.eogn.com/amember/member.php and log in with your e-mail address and the temporary password and then change that password to something that you can remember.
If you elect to not change the password immediately, you can always change it later. If you forget the temporary password, you can retrieve it whenever you wish by going to http://www.eogn.com/amember/member.php and clicking on “Forgot your password?”
I apologize for the inconvenience but I do believe that all this is for a good reason: you do not anyone to see any password you use. Many people use the same password(s) on more than one account. Exposing a password on one account may compromise security on multiple accounts. Therefore, I have elected to use systems that never display passwords, not even to me. (I also never see your credit card number.)
While inconvenient, I do believe the increased security is worthwhile.
Nothing is changing in the weekly e-mail newsletter; it will be sent to each Plus Edition subscriber every week, as always. Only the web site is changing.
I also hope that you will like the new Plus Edition Subscribers' section!
