In accordance with our declared charitable objective of ‘Educating the Public in One-Name Studies’ we have released a significant amount of material previously only available to Guild members. This complements our archive of over 100 Guild Journals which was made available to the public earlier this year.
The Guild website now has two search engines, one for finding “Names“ currently registered with the Guild, and a second to search the rest of the website, including the Archive of Guild Journals.
Ken Toll, the Guild’s Marketing Manager, said today
It's been a while since I've visited this site. This time I'd hoped that POWELL was among their collection. I suppose I'm the one to register the surname, since both my parents were POWELLs. I've spent over 30 years looking for a genetic connection between Da and Mum and have found two common ancestors, neither of whom were POWELLs, nor within 3 centuries of my parents' births.
Along the way, I've amassed several binders of "false" leads. Perhaps through the Guild my data may help another.
