41st Annual Southern California Genealogy Jamboree
Friday through Sunday, June 11-13, 2010
Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel & Convention Center
Burbank, CaliforniaThe Southern California Genealogical Society is pleased to announce an invitation to submit lecture proposals for the 41st Annual Southern California Genealogy Jamboree, to be held at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, Burbank, California June 11-13, 2010. The 2010 edition of this conference is expected to draw nearly 1200 participants, speakers, and exhibitors. Jamboree has a well-earned reputation as one of the largest and most popular genealogical events in the United States.
A wide variety of presentations will be considered, including websites and electronic information sources, migration paths, use of records and repositories, research methodology, skill building, cultural and ethnic research, writing, publishing, family history, computers and technology, society management, genetics and DNA research, source records, immigration and naturalization records, digital and brick-and-mortar record repositories, and professional topics. This year’s geographic focus will be on North America – Canada, Mexico, and the many regions of the U.S. Whether it’s New York or the South, Midwest or Mid-Atlantic, Pacific Northwest or Southwestern U.S., each region presents its own records challenge.
Original topic submissions are strongly encouraged. Because we have a loyal audience who returns to our conference year after year, we will give priority to presentations that have not been presented at Jamboree within the past two years. The committee will consider proposals for panels, workshops and other ground-breaking presentations. The committee will give preference to sponsored presentations, and digital presentations are strongly encouraged.
Presentation time slots are a total of 60 minutes in length, including a 10-minute question-and-answer period. Panel discussions may be proposed for 90 or 120 minutes. Speakers may submit any number of proposals. The Jamboree Committee, at its sole discretion, may select none, some, or all of the proposals submitted by any speaker.
Jamboree draws attendees of all experience levels. We encourage the submission of advanced level sessions, as well as beginner and intermediate levels.

I couldn't make it this year. I'll submit a few proposals for 2010 and get my equipment packed. How I miss the Hollywood Hills and the beaches. Now there's plenty of time to prepare.
