Gene Norris, Thomas Mooney and Roy Hamilton will be the featured speakers at the eighth annual Cherokee Ancestry Conference June 12-13 in The Restaurant of the Cherokees, 17793 Highway 62, Tahlequah.
Norris will speak on "Missions and Missionaries in the Cherokee Nation,” "Cherokee Old Settlers in Arkansas,” "The Cherokee Nation and the Civil War,” "Voluntary, Coerced and Forced Removals of the Cherokee” and "The Cherokee Detachments on the Trail of Tears.” Mooney’s topic will be "Cherokee Resources on the Internet,” and Hamilton will speak on "The Cherokee Prior to European Contact.”
