A new project will see cemeteries all over New Brunswick identified and catalogued in an effort to maintain heritage. The data will be captured using technology that includes GPS coordinates, property identification numbers and, where applicable, civic addresses.
The changes come after the many cemeteries located throughout the region were found to be in improper states, with many names engraved into the stone becoming worn and unlegible. This new effort hopes to make it a little easier for anyone seeking information about a cemetery.
