A study session and a public hearing on the matter are scheduled Tuesday. At issue is where the genealogy collection, which is now housed in the Tulare Public Library, will go once the new library at Cross Avenue and M Street opens in June.
At least two councilmen have expressed support for the Sequoia Genealogical Society, which maintains the collection. The announcement drew anger from society members.
The genealogy collection attracts residents from across the county and state looking for family lineage and other history.
