Tulare Library Director Michael Stowell announced the genealogy collection won't be housed at the new library building, scheduled to open next year. The collection has been housed at the library for more than three decades and was in the new building's original construction plans.

Another sad situation. Seems the city fathers don't understand the popularity of genealogy these days with the young and old tax payers. Time to remember this next election day. After reading the story perhaps the best idea is to move the city council chambers somewhere else, and place the collection there!
