An article by Chris Paton in the Scottish Genealogy News and Events blog states that the Postgraduate Certificate in Genealogical Studies offered by the University of Strathclyde and the Higher Certificate offered by the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies in Canterbury have now been formally recognised by both bodies as being of an equivalent level. The implication is that those with an IHGS Higher Certificate can, if they choose, seek to join Strathclyde's Postgraduate Diploma, which has until now only been offered to those who have successfully completed the Postgraduate Certificate.
