Though officials are addressing privacy issues so searches can be eventually be made available online, the newly-expanded marriage records can now be searched only on the public computers in the Recorder Division, officials said.
Four agency members volunteered about 400 hours entering names, marriage dates and book and page references for thousands of couples listed in the indices to make the expanded data base possible, officials said.
The entire project was accomplished with no added cost to the county.
