New Source Management
Working with Sources allows you to store church register pages, chronicles, register office documents, newspaper prints from a library or even audio/video interviews with contemporary witnesses. These documents can help you prove your data. Determine the credibility per source file and save it along with your data - an interview might be less credible than an official document one time, another time it might be the other way around. For multipage documents, store the page number per reference from now on.
Facts
Besides formal information like name, gender or important events in a person's life, there's always some facts that make that past life more tangible - MacFamilyTree helps you preserve a person's eye colour, height or skin colour for generations to come. Did you miss a good way of storing social security numbers or National ID numbers you found in immigration papers? The all new Facts pane is the best way of doing it.
Improved Kinship Report
MacFamilyTree's highly acclaimed Kinship Report is the central starting point if you'd like to determine once and for all how closely related you are to that Great-Uncle Bob of yours. Dramatic enhancements determine relationships much more precisely, including step-parents and adoptive relationships. So that Great-Uncle Bob is in fact your Third Cousin Twice Removed - an important distinction for you as a genealogist. Ÿ
Audio- and Video recording
Capture interviews with contemporary witnesses in MacFamilyTree's enhanced Media Pane, included in Person Profiles and Sources. All you need is a Mac with an iSight or any other Quicktime-compatible webcam. The stories relatives or friends can tell you will bring you as close as possible to understanding that period of time after all these years. That way, you'll never lose any information again. Your Mac is a neutral observer, capturing and preserving the exact wording of a story. Don't solely rely on your memory anymore, use MacFamilyTree instead.
