In conjunction with the 76th anniversary of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker's deaths (May 23, 1934), the city of Dallas Municipal Archives has finished the latest round of digitization of its collection and has posted some cool online material concerning Bonnie and Clyde. Among the exhibits are photos, reports, fingerprint cards and other interesting details from the Dallas Police Department's intersection with the Mr. Barrow and Ms. Parker.
Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed on a country road on Louisiana Highway 154, south of Gibsland, outside Shreveport, Louisiana, near the Texas state line. Six law enforcement officers were involved, two from Louisiana and four from Texas. All six gave independent testimony of what happened in the days and weeks after the ambush. However, the six all disagreed with each other on many of the details. I visited the ambush spot more than 30 years later but there wasn't much left to be seen.

Both Bonnie and Clyde were raised near Dallas and both were buried in Dallas. Bonnie and Clyde wished to be buried side by side, but the Parker family would not allow it. Parker was buried in the Fishtrap Cemetery, but in 1945 was moved to the new Crown Hill Cemetery in Dallas. Barrow is buried in Western Heights Cemetery in Dallas, next to his brother, Marvin.
