Nearly 2,000 genealogists have already entered by posting a query or two on http://www.GenQueries.com, an online database of genealogy queries that I created. The contest will end next Saturday at 12 midnight, Eastern Daylight Savings Time on June 12, 2010. The winners will be announced the following day at the Southern California Genealogy Jamboree held in Burbank, California, and shortly thereafter will be listed online at http://www.eogn.com and at http://www.GenQueries.com.
The iPad is a prime mover in the world of consumer electronics. This one-and-a-half pound handheld device allows you to read and write your email messages, read a book, watch a movie, listen to music, surf the web, play games, look at photographs, research grocery store prices, navigate with maps and satellite images, take notes, and more.
A number of genealogy programs are now available for the iPad as well as for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The iPad works well with both Windows and Macintosh computers. You can read more about the iPad if you start at http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=ipad&domains=eogn.com&sitesearch=eogn.com&btnG=+Google+Search+
