The former Keeseville High School, now called the Keeseville Civic Center, will close on October 1, displacing several groups who presently occupy space in the building. One such organization is the Northern New York American-Canadian Genealogical Society.
The society moved to the Civic Center in Keeseville in 1985 with three storage cabinets. The society has since expanded to fill two full rooms of research materials in what was the high school library.
Finding a place suitable for the group with sufficient storage and research area as well as handicap access has become difficult.
