The Family History Expos are held in a number of cities in the west, although I see they are going eastward to Atlanta, Georgia later this year. I have attended a number of past expos and have found them to be a lot of fun and also educational. I suspect this week's event in Sandy will be the same.
In fact, the Family History Expos are designed to attract all levels of genealogists with a strong emphasis on beginners' and intermediate topics. Bring along your toughest questions for the experts in the Ask-the-Pros booth.
The exhibits hall will have many, many genealogy vendors from all over the country. A full list of exhibitors can be found at http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07e2wik2sx79132146
By the way, admission to the exhibits hall is free of charge. While I would always encourage you to purchase a ticket so that you can take advantage of all the classes, if you can only stop in for a short time you can at least tour the exhibits hall free of charge.
Something new this year will be the Beacon of Bloggers where you can meet the writers of your favorite genealogy blogs. (Yes, I'll be there.)
Registration at the door is $75.00 for the full two-day event. A One Day Registration is $40.00. You also can attend just a few classes for $12.00 a class.

See you in Sandy?
