I travel quite a bit, both for this newsletter and for other reasons. Whenever I leave home, I typically post a message here to warn newsletter readers that posting of new articles might be a bit sporadic while I am traveling. Looking at my travel schedule for the next four months, it might be easier to post a message every time I am NOT traveling.
In the next four months, I will spend more days traveling than the number of days that I will be at home. I will attend a number of genealogy conferences, and I also have a couple of personal, non-genealogy trips scheduled as well.
I will start on Wednesday of this week with a trip to Arizona to attend the Arizona Family History Expo in Mesa. My trips over the next four months include: Phoenix, Arizona (twice); Port Charlotte, Florida; Salt Lake City, Utah (twice), Virginia Beach, Virginia; Springfield, Massachusetts; Charleston, South Carolina; two trips to England; and a non-genealogy-related trip to Dayton, Ohio.
Whew! That's a lot of trips through Security at the airports. I may become the most x-rayed person in TSA history.
My travel schedule is shown below.
As always, I will be traveling with a laptop computer, an iPad, a 3G wireless modem, wi-fi wireless capabilities, and other hardware. I should be able to remain connected, but one can never say for sure. Hardware failures do happen occasionally. I may be offline for extended periods, especially if I am riding airplanes and waiting in airport lounges. Please don't be surprised if you don't see any new articles posted here for a day or two.
If you are able to attend one of the conferences that I will be visiting, I'd love to meet you. Also, you might like to join me and a bunch of other genealogists at the EOGN dinners this Saturday in Mesa, Arizona, and on February 12 in Salt Lake City.
Someone once remarked that I shouldn't post my travel schedule online because would-be burglars would know that the house will be empty. Here is a note to all would-be burglars: I am traveling alone on most trips and with a friend on one of the trips. My family members are not joining me. The other family members will be at home, the house will be occupied, and the (large) family dog awaits you.
