Are you planning to attend the RootsTech Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 10 through 12? If so, I'd like to invite you to dinner on Saturday evening. This will be a dinner of genealogists. Please be aware that the dinner will be informal... VERY informal.
You may have noticed the dinner invitation I posted earlier for a dinner at the Arizona Family History Expo in Mesa, Arizona. I will soon be posting the details of a similar dinner at the RootsTech conference. A few details have yet to be ironed out (including the menu); so, I am not quite ready to post all the information just yet. However, I can confirm there will be an EOGN Dinner on Saturday evening, February 12.
The dinner in Salt Lake City will be similar to previous dinners, but with a few major differences:
1. It will be BIG! I made reservations for 100 people and am hoping to fill the place. Yes, that's right, 100 genealogists all gathered together in one dining room, just for fun! It boggles the mind.
2. Dinner will be buffet style, and it will be a fixed price. I don't yet have the menu defined, but there will be a selection of beef and chicken and salads and some sort of desserts. Details will follow. I will know the exact price per person after the menu is finalized but I am hoping to keep it in the $35 to $40 range, including the meal and the entertainment.
3. For the first time ever, we will have entertainment after dinner! Yes, this is a special form of entertainment, just for genealogists! In fact, I doubt if non-genealogists will understand it.
Again, final details are still being ironed out; so, I cannot make any announcements just yet other than I can confirm there will be a dinner and it will be different from any other EOGN Dinners held in the past. There will be an online reservations system, which I will announce at least seven days before reservations will be accepted.
Stay tuned!
