I have been issuing invitations to the new Google+ social network service to any newsletter reader who asked for one. About 5:30 PM Eastern time this afternoon, Google started displaying the following error message on every invitation I attempted to deliver:
"We are unable to deliver the invitations. Please try again soon."
I have delivered 500 invitations in the past day and a half. I suspect that is the maximum.
As suggested by Google, I will "try again soon" but I cannot make any promises. If you have already requested an invitation, if I do succeed in obtaining more invitations, you will receive a notice of a successful invitation directly from Google.
If you need an invitation, I suggest you contact a friend who is already a member of Google+. Reportedly, millions of computer users have already joined and I am guessing that every one of them can issue up to 500 new invitations.
Thank you.
