Good news for those outside North America! The following announcement was written by the Genealogical Publishing Company:
Genealogical Publishing Company Books Now Available in Great Britain, Ireland & the E.U.
Genealogical Publishing Company (www.genealogical.com) is delighted to announce that many of its 2,500 genealogy reference titles are now manufactured in the UK. Genealogists can now order our books from Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.eu, bookdepository.co.uk, and other fine booksellers—without incurring the time and expense of overseas postage and handling charges. These include the works of authorities David Dobson for Scotland, Brian Mitchell for Ireland and Northern Ireland, Peter Wilson Coldham for England, and hundreds of other authors.
What has allowed us to bring our books to you now is print on demand technology. Thanks to print on demand, available in the U.K., we can print a single copy (or multiple copies) of a book in response to an order for that title. Print on demand has taken the guesswork out of book printing and freed publishers from tying up their capital in unsold inventories. Recent improvements in print on demand technology, moreover, have allowed us to manufacture books, one by one, at an affordable price without sacrificing quality in the final product. Just as important, by manufacturing books in the U.K., we can spare would-be customers the exorbitant charges associated with overseas shipping.
Genealogical Publishing Company (GPC) is the oldest and most respected U.S. publisher of how-to books, textbooks, and general reference books in genealogy. Established in 1959, GPC has published over 2,000 books pertaining to U.S. Canadian, English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, and continental European family history. To browse our collection, please visit www.genealogical.com, but be sure to order from a vendor on your side of the Atlantic.
