Your New Retro Cell Phone

Sometimes I long for "the good old days." This isn't one of those times.

Shisa Labs today is launching their Retro Brick Bluetooth handset. This thing looks like the ultimate ’80s status symbol, the Motorola DynaTAC. However, its a fake. Oh, it works, but not in the way you think it might.

The $85 Retro Brick Bluetooth handset may look cool, but it is simply an accessory for your present cell phone. In fact, it is only a Bluetooth handset that communicates via a wireless Bluetooth connection with the modern cell phone you have surreptitiously hidden in your pocket or purse. You can walk around, talking on this "brick," just like we all did back in the good old days.

Sometimes the good old days weren't really as good as we remember.
