Details are in this press release written by the Dallas Genealogical Society:
The Dallas Genealogical Society reminds all potential entrants to the 2012 Writing Competition that the deadline for submissions is September 30.
Announced in June, the contest will accept original material, not previously published, from members and non-members, hobbyists and professionals. Multiple entries are allowed, but only one prize per entrant.
Submissions will be judged on accuracy, clarity, and style. Winners will be announced at the annual DGS Awards Luncheon in December 2012 (winners need not be present), and will be published in a future DGS publication. All prizes may not be awarded.
Send entries via email only, with “DGS Writing Competition” in the subject line to: editorial@dallasgenealogy.com
Include the following information both in the email and on the first page of the entry: Author’s full name, address, telephone number, email address, and a brief biographical sketch.
